The colors of Sicily are once again flying above the shipyard representing the new Aicon Yachts in Giammoro.

Now that the legal and economic problems of the old management have been archived, the new CEO Marc Udo Broich (American of German origin) has been working in silence for the past three years to restart the construction site and spread the philosophy that it represents: to create a product on the basis of customer’s desires.

Yesterday the first new boat, the Aicon 66 “Vivere”, commissioned by an American of Palermo origins, was presented to guests from the United States, Canada and Brazil.

As anticipated during the first meeting with the press last October, the materials used for the construction of the boat are only
Sicilian and recall the colors of the island.

“Strong contrasts full of energy”, explains Aicon, “natural materials transformed into innovative products, lava stone, enamels, milled woods”. “More than 89 people work on the shipyard”, Broich says, “the construction of the boat started in December 2020 and was carried out in the midst of the pandemic, with all the associated difficulties. Despite this, we have tried to carry on the Aicon philosophy, to build the product according to the wishes of our customers, not offering something ready but building it “bespoke”. We used the highest quality materials, exclusively from the territory. Especially, the main deck is characterized by the particular refinement and care in the choice of the selected materials: the eucalyptus wood skillfully worked by our craftsmen to create the furniture, the precious Billiemi marbles, characteristic for the veins tending to yellow. From Etna we took the lava stone, treated at different temperatures that alter its color, obtaining particular effects.”

And then the exteriors:

“Even the smallest detail is conceived with extreme precision”, adds Broich, “the strong point of the distinctive and elegant trait of the Aicon 66 Vivere is the absence of scuppers (water drain pipe, outside edge or bilge, ed) on sight. We paid great attention to details, also expressing it with the use of carbon fiber in the construction of furniture and components”.

For Broich, the Aicon 66 “Vivere” is the result of the union

“Between talent and resources made in the USA and the magical island of Sicily, which combines living the sea in safety with a visionary idea of quality excellence. Our first goal is to fulfill the wishes of our customers with a very specific purpose: to experience the sea without limits, immersed in luxury and comfort. We have used cutting-edge technology and our artisans are specialized in creating a unique product.”

The shipyard is already working on other models (Aicon 72 “Opera d’Aria”, Aicon 76 and Aicon 86) and even though there are no too specific details at this time, Broich admits that for the Giammoro site,

“There are further growth prospects . For us, 2021 was an intense year and we have reopened a business that all of Sicily can be proud of. Aicon has experienced difficult times from the previous management, but the brand is known all over the world, especially in the USA, and now we aim to place it among the highest levels of luxury brands.”

Finally, one of the most important details: all the company’s activity was entirely financed by Aicon Group, without any help from Italian politics or credit institutions. (All rights reserved)
